The Greenhouse

The Greenhouse is vegetarian and we are no but nevertheless we would recommend it wholeheartedly. The staff were lovely, the food interesting and reasonably priced. There were hot and cold food choices, fresh salads, lovely puddings and cake. The location was suggested to us by a local and their advice turned out to be excellent. The place was popular and had a lovely vibe. The artwork on the walls is interesting too, there are obviously some talented local artists. The location is upstairs though so would not suit the less able.

The Greenhouse is the place to be seen in Shrewsbury. A highly recommended community vegeteration/vegan café/restaurant. The owner/chef, Joel, is dedicated beyond belief to what he produces. The Greenhouse always welcomes the local groups that regularly meet there in addition to the town's visitors that porposely plan to visit the establishment. The staff are beyond courteous and offer at-the-counter service or will happily come to your table if you feel unsure. They are experts at coping with the older genrations who frequently forget what they have just ordered or require suggestions or recommendations and naturally, my favourite is the delighfully charming Katrina who always cortseys when presenting your order. I am there on a weekly basis for porridge (and everything else that jumps out), which (with a very subtle hint of nutmeg) is possibly the best in Shrewsbury town centre. The Greenhouse supports local artists and it is always a pleasure to see the incredibly-priced artwork on display, not least of which of which is produced by charitable-hero, Arnie Wray.

Absolutely wonderful cafe, food is amazing and the staff are super friendly too. The cafe itself was clean, well decorated with a lovely view if you sit at the window tables. The stairs are a little steep for a less agile grandma but there is a sturdy hand rail.I ordered a frittata and salad which was so colourful and full of flavour I was sad when it was all eaten! They had run out of the chocolate raspberry torte so opted for the chocolate beetroot cake, served warm and really good. All in all very good food at a ridiculously reasonable price.Very gluten free and dog friendly, little Ru loved his puppachino!

SO YUM!! The BEST place for veggie/vegan food! - I stop in Shrewsbury en route from London to Mid Wales just to go here, it’s hearty, homely, fresh and just so tasty! The people are so lovely too it’s just an exceptional, beauty of a place

Best cafe in Shrewsbury! Delicious food,breakfast, lunch or pudding. My husband who is not vegetarian, even said it was the best breakfast he'd had. They go above and beyond with food and service. Very clean and lovely atmosphere! 100% recommend.

What a find! Doesn’t look anything from outside but upstairs is beautiful. Big open room simply laid out.The menu has something for everyone. I had nut roast, husband stuffed potato and a mixed salad to share, absolutely delicious, all of it! (I forgot to photograph ). We will definitely return.

We were back for the weekend revisiting the area we lived in for many years and we wanted a tasty, healthy lunch so I knew exactly where to go having been once before on our last visit to the area. The choices are all very tasty, vegetarian/vegan meals with a great array of salads and some lovely desserts. We had the vegetable bake and chocolate beetroot cake with custard

What a delightful vegetarian cafe. Up a flight of stairs so not suitable for everyone. The food was lovely and reasonably priced. It was that good I forgot to take a picture so you need to go and try it for yourself I highly recommend it. Friendly staff, nice ambience interesting art and architecture to look at x
